Our journey began in the 1980s when my father, Mr Safdar Sethi, founded Express on Radford Road in Nottingham, UK.
Arriving in the UK at just 15 years old in 1957, Mr Sethi was a formidable force—working tirelessly to provide for his family and build a lasting future. He instilled a strong business mindset in his two sons, giving us the foundation to understand finance, discipline, and entrepreneurship.
Following his passing in 2017, The Sethi Family set to honour his vision and carry forward his enduring legacy in the financial industry.
Our Story
Usman’s father laid the foundations for a lifelong connection to the financial industry, creating a ripple effect that would shape the next generation. Mr Usman Sethi, son of Mr Safdar Sethi, completed his studies in Business before beginning his career with Lloyds Banking Group in 2008.
Over the years, Usman progressed through a wide range of roles including collections, cashiering, personal banking, and management, earning his promotion to Manager in 2015. It was during this period that he recognised his readiness to take the next step—transitioning into consultancy within the financial sector.
Usman went on to build his consultancy career working alongside respected firms such as Lloyds Banking Group, Countrywide and The Mortgage Group (TMG), specialising as a mortgage broker. Armed with extensive experience and industry knowledge, Usman ultimately followed in his father’s footsteps by founding Safdar Financial Services in 2021, establishing its first presence in the UK and continuing the family legacy.
